Initial Server Configuration & Setup on Debian
The Debian Stable distribution is one of the most popular for personal computers and network servers, and has been used as a base for several other Linux distributions. Debian was first announced in 1993 by Ian Murdock, Debian 0.01 was released in August 1993, and the first stable release was made in 1996.
When you first create a new Debian 8 server, there are a few configuration steps that you should take early on as part of the basic setup. This will increase the security and usability of your server and will give you a solid foundation for subsequent actions.
Faster Response Time with Reverse Proxy Cache
These resources are then returned to the client as though they originated from the server itself (or servers themselves). While a forward proxy acts as an intermediary for its (usually nearby) associated clients and returns to them resources accessible on the Internet, a reverse proxy acts as an intermediary for its (usually nearby) associated servers and only returns resources provided by those associated servers.
JavaScript Design Patterns Introduction
In the first part of this book, we will explore the history and importance of design patterns which can really be applied to any programming language. If you’re already sold on or are familiar with this history, feel free to skip to the chapter “What is a Pattern?” to continue reading.
Design patterns can be traced back to the early work of an architect named Christopher Alexander. He would often write publications about his experience in solving design issues and how they related to buildings and towns. One day, it occurred to Alexander that when used time and time again, certain design constructs lead to a desired optimal effect.
Getting Started with NodeJS: Simple HTTP Server
External LinkNode.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices. This simple web server written in Node responds with “Hello World” for every request. To run the server, put the code into a file example.js and execute it with the node program from the command line.
